Butte, Montana and the surrounding areas offer endless possibilities for outdoor adventure.
In the winter, you can, of course, enjoy skiing: downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, backcountry skiing. Whatever type of snow skiing you're looking for, you can find it, here. You can also enjoy snowboarding, shoeshoeing, and snowmobiling.
When the snow melts, you can enjoy mountain biking, camping, hiking, and picnicking. And don't forget golf. Butte has several excellent golf courses, including one that was designed by Jack Nicklaus.
In addition, hunting and fishing are activities that are available year round. Over a million acres of nearby national forests offer outstanding opportunities for hunting, and Butte is within 30 minutes of some of the finest fishing in the country.

What to Expect
The Butte area has a number of excellent ski centers nearby. An excellent choice for cross-country skiing is Homestake Lodge. Just 15 minutes from Butte, they have over 20 miles of pristine, groomed cross-country ski trails. For downhill skiing, try Discovery Basin. They have three faces, with runs suitable for beginner to expert skiers.
For warm weather fun, you can find any number of excellent hiking trails. In fact, there are more than 10 miles of hiking trails in the Butte city limits. One of the most popular hikes in the area is the BA&P Hill Trail. It is a paved trail that runs a little over four miles. The trail winds through various historic sites in Butte, including abandoned mine yards and historic neighborhoods.
One more thing: If you enjoy golf, you'll love staying at Toad Hall Manor. Our property is adjacent to the 16th fairway of the Butte Country Club Golf Course, one of the premier golf courses in Montana.
